A little background (just so the second verse makes sense). Around this time a news magazine show (maybe 20/20) broadcast audio of a mother trying to reassure her dying child that everything's alright. By dying, I mean literally dying in her arms - the victim of domestic abuse.
Heartbreaking, but even more disturbing was that someone decided to broadcast the audio.
